Unifi is partnering with COSPE in the FAMI project "Language Buddy," an innovative initiative aimed at supporting the linguistic and cultural integration of secondary school students with a migrant background through an innovative mentoring system.

The project aims to engage university students in this activity, offering them the opportunity to develop skills in the field of cultural mediation.

The project offers our students the following benefits:

• A specialized training course focused on mentoring techniques and practices for developing language skills in multicultural contexts, conducted asynchronously with dedicated tutor support. This course is completely free and provided by the University of Malta.
• A recognized certification upon course completion, awarding 2 ECTS credits, issued by the University of Malta.
• A 16-week practical experience as a mentor in lower and upper secondary schools, totaling 36 hours (with only 8 in-person hours), in collaboration with COSPE.
• The recognition of acquired soft skills, including effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-organization.
• The opportunity to connect with a network of cooperation between local and national universities, expanding professional prospects.
• Students participating in the project could request the registration of 3 CFU in their study plan as a laboratory activity.

Additionally, two students will be selected to participate in an on-site training in Malta from May 7th to 11th, with all expenses covered.

International students are also invited to take part in the project.
